Another thing I've realized while using the multi-language feature is that this is not really what we need.  In fact, that would be interesting is the idea to 'link' ideas together so that their vote count would be summed in the reports.  This way, we could have a forum in french and one in english, but when an idea is similar to another, we could link them together rather than translating them (which is taking a significant amount of time!).

I think it's important to link ideas together to avoid duplication or make duplicated ideas more explicit.

Another use is to link related ideas together.

It's possible at this moment.

1) You can Merge two ideas (articles) votes will be summarized.

2) It's possible to setup translations for any article so UserEcho will display article to user with corresponding translation equal to the user's locale.

Oh cool! Merging!

Still, linking to related ideas would be really useful. Think of the way GitHub Issue helps the user link to an Issue simply by typing #[Issue-Number] like #3. The autosuggest functionality makes it pretty fun to use too.

Please be more detailed with your question, as had been answered before, it's possible to merge ideas.

For multi-language forums is better to have isolated dedicated forums for each language.
