Hyperlink to topic without title?

We are trying to synchronize topics in UserEcho with cases in our internal work management system. Ideally, each case will have the corresponding topic ID and each topic will have the corresponding case number. We would like to be able to create a hyperlink to the topic with only the topic ID (without the topic title). For example, here is the default hyperlink for one of our topics:

http://earthsoft.userecho.com/topic/414583-client-...

We would like to be able to use this URL as well:

http://earthsoft.userecho.com/topic/414583/

Both URLs should work and both should to to the same topic.

Any suggestions?
