Text field adds space character when I begin an answer

hal 2 years ago in Usability & Interface • updated by Vladimir Mullagaliyev (co-founder) 2 years ago 3

The User Echo text field has begun acting erratically. Most times that I start an answer, when I hit the space key after the first word it adds a space before the last character of the word. See this video:

http://www.screencast.com/t/RrRWLOmX

Also, extra spaces are being added between words. I did not add the extra spaces in the first two sentences above, between User and Echo, and between Most and times.

Other times I will type a word in which the first letter is capitalized, and it will automatically change to lowercase.

Any idea what's going on? This only happens in User Echo text/response/description fields. It's not happening with other local or cloud apps.

Hello,

We've tested in Chrome and Firefox and we do not have this problem.

In the video we see that when you write the first time your first letter is "lowercase" and then it is replaced to "uppercase".

Seems like you have some plugin in your browser to check grammar errors. And seems like the problem in this plugin with our redactor. Try to disable it and check again.

Vladimir, you were absolutely right. The offending plugin was called Spell Bee. Thanks for the advice! It does not play well with UE.
